AZSWU membership

  • The first is full membership and applies to all who have professional formal degree (nine months social work intensive program, bachelor degree, master degree and doctoral degree) in social work or are students of any social work program. According to the Charter, any person having professional formal degree in social work or student of any social work program in the Republic of Azerbaijan and other countries can be a member of the Union. The Union Board accepts members to the organization.
  • Members have the following rights and benefits:
  • Participating in organization management through the rules defined by the Charter;
  • Electing the elected bodies of the Union; (the Union holds General Assembly (GA) in every two years and all elected bodies are defined by the members in GA);
  • Being elected to the elected bodies of the Union in GA;
  • Getting priority in free events, as well as International Social Work Day which is annually celebrated by the Union. ;
  • Discounts or fee waiver in case of paid events;
  • Receiving information about Union leadership actions;
  • Gaining access to resources of the Union;
  • Controlling Union’s leadership actions;
  • Applying to the Union as a Union member to defend their rights and legal benefits;
  • Participating personally in any discussion regarding their rights and duties;
  • Getting information about job opportunities in the field;
  • Getting information about available training courses, education programs on Social work/policy in the country and globally;
  • Disagreeing with and complaining to the corresponding Union bodies;
